Here Are Some Questions We're
Often Asked About The Airfield Research Group. (FAQ's)
Q: How do I submit an article?
A: Please contact us for more information. We are always on the lookout for new
articles for our quarterly journal, Airfield Review.
It doesn’t matter how big or small your article may be, we will review
everything that's submitted look and consider publishing it in a future issue of
Airfield Review.
Q: Are there any guidelines for getting permission to visit airfield sites?
A: We do not issue any such guidelines. The majority of sites are privately
owned and in some cases may be potentially dangerous to the unwary.
Our general advice is to seek formal permission on an individual basis.
Membership of ARG will confer no special privileges in your seeking such
permissions.
Q: Do you organise field trips?
A: Yes, the trips organised by ARG are open to members only. Please see details
of how to join us, and login to the forum to get the latest news.
Q: I’m a magazine editor - may I use your material for an article?
A: In principle yes, but due to the diverse range of contributors all request for
extracts or reprints for publication permissions are considered
on an individual basis after consideration by the committee and authors. We're
more than happy to consider individual requests.
Q: I'm writing a book and need more information about
something/somewhere/somebody can you help?
A: In principle yes, but due to the diverse range of contributors all
request for extracts or reprints for publication permissions are considered
on an individual basis after consideration by the committee and authors. We're
more than happy to consider individual requests.
In all cases the ARG must be formally acknowledged.
Q: How much are back issues of Airfield Review
A: Back issues are available, and a list including prices is being prepared as a
matter of urgency and will be published on this
website in due course. -

Q: Are there any members able to provide professional
archaeological/research/other services
A: We don`t offer any such services on a formal basis, however we have a diverse
and highly qualified member base and normally will be happy to refer
enquiries to individuals where appropriate.
Q: Are there local group meetings or get togethers?
A: The AGM is held once a year and all ARG members are invited to join us at the
notified venue.
Group visits to airfields and associated sites are available to current members
as well.
We're also looking to arrange regional "get togethers" site visits and socials
for members.
Q: Can I get involved in the committee / magazine / organising events?
A: As a member you are more than welcome to help out wherever you can.
Committee posts are elected at the AGM.
Q: Is there a junior section?
A: Not at the present time.
Q: Membership runs from Jan - Dec, what happens if I join in say June?
A: Members who join in the middle of the year will be sent issues of Airfield
Review that they would have missed from that
year, effectively giving them everything from the start of the calendar year
they join.
Q: I have material I'd like to donate to the archive, how do I do this?
A: Material donations to the ARG Archives are of great interest, please contact us
for information on how to do this.
Q: Does ARG or any of it's members give talks to groups?
A: Maybe! - Get in touch and tell us about your requirements and we'll attempt
to locate a suitably qualified speaker.
Fees payable and expenses are by individual agreement with the speaker(s).
