One of Airfield Research Group Ltd’s key objectives is to provide educational material and resources for the public relating to airfields, their architecture and supporting infrastructure, as well as related military facilities. As a UK organisation, our emphasis is on British airfields, however we are not limited to this and have much material on overseas airfields as well.
We are particularly keen to encourage the younger generation to take an interest in this fascinating aspect of our history, and so can offer Outreach programmes to schools, colleges and universities in all aspects of airfields.
Whilst the likeliest interest is from history students, subjects including civil engineering, architecture and archaeology can also benefit from the resources offered by ARGL, in particular through access to the archive.
If any educational establishments or students are interested in exploring how ARGL can aid your studies and/or teaching, please contact the group via the Contact page.
In addition, ARGL can offer guest speakers to professional bodies and local societies on a range of airfield-related topics. These talks can be tailored to suit your particular interests or needs and provide a useful educational resource. In the case of these talks, a donation to the charity’s funds is requested, but otherwise the ARGL member’s time is given free-of-charge. If this service is of interest, please contact the group via the Contact page.
