not sure if this belongs here, Mods feel free to move

one of 2 batteries built by the US as part of the defences for the Naval base at Argentia.

This one is the only survivor and is in fairly good condition

Thanks kebecker, I'm a sucker for stuff like this!

Some heritage information here: http://www.historicplaces.ca/en/rep-reg/place-lieu.aspx?id=3843

Do you know the gun type and calibre? It was usual to use WW1vintage ex-naval guns in coastal defence batteries.

The airfield proper (to the north) is a nice layout too.

There are two of these here in Argentia currently. Both are in the same condition although there is more removed from the one you've photographed here than the other one.
