Thanks to the kind generousity of Donald Byers, 401BG Association Historian, the hosted 8AF 1st Air Division Archive now holds digital copies of the records for the following Divisional maintenance units:

446th Sub-Depot (92BG, Alconbury/Podington) 1942-45
447th Sub-Depot (351BG, Polebrook) 1943-45
448th Sub-Depot (381BG, Ridgewell) 1943-45
449th Sub-Depot (306BG, Thurleigh) 1943-45
450th Sub-Depot (401BG, Deenethorpe) 1943-45

These were all subordinate units of the 2nd Strategic Air Depot, VIII Service Command, initially at Little Staughton and later at Abbots Ripton (now the current RAF Alconbury).

In addition are the following 3rd Air Division unit records:

451st Sub-Depot (96BG, Snetterton Heath) 1943-45
452nd Sub-Depot (388BG, Knettishall) 1943-45
453rd Sub-Depot (94BG, Bury St. Edmunds) 1943-44

These will be deposited at Alconbury over the weekend.

Excellent!
You can tell a builder from an archaeologist by the size of his trowel. Mine is a small one!

Also inbound is a copy of the 1955 47th Bomb Wing USAF yearbook, kindly bought and donated by Walter Marr.
The 47BW was based at Sculthorpe, with the 86th Bomb Squadron and support units detached at Alconbury, including Walter as an AC2 in the 7560th Material Squadron.

The 86BS aircrew training progress board recently donated also dates to the same period:
