Just after 3pm today we were sat in my car at Tesco's car park in Abingdon, Oxon. All of a sudden a very loud aircraft engine noise behind me on my side. Looking up the Lancaster was approaching almost directly above us going very slow, low and noisy. What a wonderful sight and sound that was !!
Everything seemed to stop as everyone was looking skywards.. Sooo much better than at a airshow
The Dead got memorials, The living got time.

Looks like he's flying again as I heard he performed an emergency landing due to an engine fire a couple of weeks ago ?
So finally, not that much damage ????
6 RCAF Bomber Group (organisation, airfields, squadrons, aircarft, and their 70 crashes in Belgium (location, crew, evasion lines, cemeteries, PoW Camps, etc...). Busy for a couple of years !!!!!!

There was a village fete at Waddesdon yesterday, this included a flypast by the Lancaster... Also my mate had a delivery there and said that he saw what he thought was the front end of a Shackleton bomber.
