His memorial at St Pauls says "if you seek a monument look around you". And the original pre wwii design of the Roman Catholic cathedral in Liverpool was twice the size of St Pauls.

There is a model of its predecessor inside and that looked impressive as well.

Only the crypt was built for Liverpool's new RC cathedral. Apparently a cat had crept in :)

In Liverpool the RC cathedral is known as "paddys wigwam", and the Anglican cathedral in Liverpool was started in 1902 but wasnt finished until 1978.
