New semi-automatic "Gee" equipment has been installed in the mountain-top stations of the Ministry of Civil Aviation in Scotland.

"Gee" is navigational aid extensively used aircraft of British European Airways and by the R.A.F.

The Scottish "Gee" chain is the first built for civil aviation.

For the past two years the Scottish chain had been operated with, ex-R.A.F. mobile equipment.

New equipment has now been installed at the three stations in Scotland — the master station on Lowther Hill, Lanarkshire, and the two slave ' stations Craigowl Hill and Rhu Stafinsh, Kintyre.
