An alert. The Aviation Bookshop in Tunbridge Wells has copies of this incredibly detailed volume at the bargain price of £10 plus postage. Indispensable for anyone with an interest in airfield histories!

Its tempting just to buy one to sell it on eBay for £100 :)

Oddly enough it the most used book I have. All the similar sized Squadron books (published by MacDonald rather than AB?) are in the loft!

Sadly no longer available by noon. Wonder if it was the second version which I really could do with?

What I would gladly pay for is a pdf version in the interest of searchability.

Yes, it was the second edition.

A pdf would indeed be very useful!

Thanks David and Dave . That is indeed good value. I've just ordered one. A couple of things I don't understand
The original 1997 edition was 368 pages ISBN 0 85130 252 1
The updated version ISBN 0 85130 365 9 has 336 - 8,000 separate entries, of which 3,000 are new, but significantly fewer pages
The Air Britain one is hardback. Most of the others I can find on the web are paperback - hence excellent value.

There is also a another Google link to Air Britain where the book is more expensive: That's what I found earlier.

I was confused by the two different prices on the Air-Britain site(s). The £37.5 one says CATALOG SUSPENDED (US spelling) and the site didn't look the same. I wonder!!!

The new version is a smaller type face to cram all the info into a single volume. For me it borders on the small but since it is not something you sit down and read it hasn't been a problem. It is also sparse on photos and this isn't a problem either.
