I've recently picked up some old WWII service records of a Welsh LAC. Some of the papers are signed and stamped up as being from 5008 Sqn Bomber command, but, having looked on various sites inc. the RAF squadron history site I can't find any record of there being a 5008 Sqn.

Any ideas anyone? Does anyone know what this Sqn was?

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite .

Thanks guys, that all fits. He transferred in to the RAF from the Royal Engineers in Jan 44 and was released in Mar 47. His civilian job was coach builder, his RAF job was carpenter. One of the documents I have is a medal certificate that states he was in 5008 Squadron under Bomber command. Hence my confusion.
