These photos are of what is left of the 336 SQNs Communial site at Horham. Tony Albrow owner of the Hospital block bought this area of land from the local farmer when he sold up as he knew that it would be in danger of being levelled by anyone who was unsympathetic to history. He got it about 4 years ago and has kept the buildings watertight until either he or someone else takes them on and restores them.

The site also has 3 blast shelters and even the original concrete bridge between this site and the neighbouring field which would have also had buildings.

Seargent's & Airmen's Ablutions.

Great photos. Seems there is a lot of feeling for this 95th Bomb Group station. Having visited the Red Feather Club and the SSQ, I know why! Great to see such efforts.

Thanks for your comments, i took the photos last June, there is also a door at the other end but the wrting has all but disappeared due to being in the sun. I visited the Red Feather club originally 2 years ago and was so impressed by what they had done there i joined the 95th BG Association. I regularly attend the quiz and film nights, i shall be giong to the 40's dance at Stradbroke village hall on the 10th May but not the open day due to my other hobby, classic car shows.

I must admit I don't associate bloodhounds with Horham. I did have a map of Bloodhound sites but type but blowed if I can find it.

Always the same when you want to post a reply isn't it?

To be honest, I wouldn't have had Horham as a Bloodhound site. Can't really imagine some like Freeman getting it wrong. I'll watch this space with interest.
