Another SOE site from Cornwall as commemorated by this memorial behind the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth.

This is both sides of Albert Street that's off Akeman Street, Tring. Photographs taken today. No sign of any Nissen hut at the corner of Mortimer Hill and Brook Street. I bought a car [Morris 1300] from the garage there in 1977. Don't recall seeing a Nissen Hut there then...

Plan A is always more effective when the problem you are working on understands that Plan B will involve the use of dynamite .

Thankyou for that Carnaby, the car-park that I can see on your link is where I parked to take my photographs. I had to wait ages for the hurst parked outside to move. It took ages for them to put the coffin inside with the flowers then stand around chatting. Then I photographed the wrong building  I'll try again next week.

Guys, I know a picture is worth a thousand words, but any chance of giving us some detail on what these were used for?

Hi there, If you go to the bottom of page two on here that will explain some of it. Also look at, The Admiralty, Including the Fleet Air Arm, Stone Frigates, by NP. HMS Aeolus is the Tring section, near the top. Hope this helps

This is the Museum in Clarence street Cheltenham today, a lot of building work going-on. I was told that it may not be open again til late next year, or even 2013. The building seen next door is the Library and Art Gallery.

Thought that I would add this one as it's just a few yards along from the museum and interesting enough.
