That the glue used to fit the subassemblies together originally was used somewhat sparingly was both a blessing and a curse.

Good: I could easily remove the sidewinder rails from the wing pylon to show the usual unarmed service arrangement without harm. :)

Bad: The port main landing gear folded up almost as soon as I put it on its wheels, crushing the gear brace strut and snapping it in the middle. :(

After that, and considering the weight of the thing, I've elected to display it on the stand even if it means having to leave off the centreline fuel tank they normally carried.

I'll take it into Hangar 15 for an overhaul.

Either that or rebuild the gear assembly myself when I find my modelling toolbox. ;)
