We were also handed a set of drawings relating to the former RAF Barkway microwave site, dating from the 1950s through to the 1990s.
The 1957 one is of particular interest, showing the truncated top of the wartime timber tower after it was hit by a P-51 of the 4th Fighter Group in fog in February 1945.
The pilot, Lt. Morton Savage, was killed in the collision.
