Paul Bellamy, archivist for the Airfield Research Group, presented a copy of "Keepers of the Keys" to the Base Library last week, on behalf of Alconbury veteran Bob Green.*
This fascinating and most welcome addition to our Alconbury Heritage Book Collection is the autobiography of Colonel Charles Clark, Commander of the 4th Tactical Depot Squadron at Alconbury when it reopened (1956-58). The Squadron's mission was to provide nuclear weapons in strike configuration within the European theatre.
*Bob Green served at RAF Alconbury as a radar repairman with the 10th Armament & Electrical Maintenance Squadron within the 10th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing, 1959-62.
Stop by the base library to read this riveting history of man and mission!
