I don't think the map is next to useless - it would be good to see the names of the sites! I can make some out though!
Thanks for posting it up.
There was a kml file link on Bones Aviation Page somewhere that I downloaded, not sure if its the same one that you mention RAF-Lincolnshire but it was on this site; www.homepages.mcb.net/bones/index.htm
as mentioned in other threads, the book you need to locate Decoy Sites is Coin Dobinson's FIELDS OF DECEPTION (ISBN 0-413-74570- which has a comprehensive gazeteer of all the sites in the UK with names and map refs.
Hi. Just had a look around Fulmodestone "KQ" Decoy A/Field. Seems to have weathered well considering the time its been neglected.

View taken from front. Note concrete plinth has been moved from it's original position.
small projection in middle of railings is where I think chance light was situated, more on that later. Am sure corregated iron would have originally been covered with earth.
More pics on following posts. Now that I'm am getting the hang of posting pics.

living quarters 15' x 9' 6'' (generator room is 8' x 7' 6'') Small hall between the two rooms with the front entrance to the left. There is very little rust on the top of the steel ribs the white paint used must be good,as the bottom half of the ribs are all rusty and no paint on at all. could have possible been another colour. Although the ribs are rusty, it is not deeply pitted, a good wire brushing and they would look as good as new.

Did not take a rear view pic as it was just covered with brambles.
This is the view to the rear of the building showing Raw Hall farm. Slightly to the right and approx two miles away is Foulsham airfield.

View from the top of the building, showing where the dummy A/field would have been laid out. Not sure if trees in the distance would have been as tall.

Were STARFISH sites anything like dummy airfields? Or were they just some piles of combustible materials waiting to be lit?
Or were they even combined with dummy airfields?

Starfish sites related to those that were made to look like towns, as decoy sites were dummy airfields
Right yes, so it was decoy towns with fake incendiary fires.
Just found this: www.raf-lincolnshire.info/histor
... hsites.htm
I didn't know that they had started out by just trying decoy lighting before they used fires.
By my reading of that STARFISH was used on airfields too?
